About Sharyn

Physiotherapist

Certified Lymphoedema Therapist, Certified Cancer Rehabilitation Physio

Sharyn Wappett graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). For over 30 years she has worked in private practice in the city and then Annandale, where for 13 years, she owned and ran a successful practice. Having moved on from Annandale, Sharyn started Restore Oncology Care and Lymphoedema Clinic, to bring her expertise to the St George and Sutherland Shire.

Sharyn’s expertise is in the management of the side effects of treatment for cancer, in particular, lymphoedema, cancer related fatigue, physical decline, post op scar tissue and cording.  Sharyn combines this with her treatment of pelvic floor issues in both women and men. Sharyn is passionate about providing a holistic approach to patient care.

Sharyn is a certified lymphoedema therapist, with training also is women’s, men’s health and clinical Pilates. Sharyn is a certified oncology rehab physiotherapist and a specialist Scar Therapist in oncology related surgery.

When Sharyn is not at work she enjoys keeping fit, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

About Renee

Occupational Therapist

Certified Lymphoedema Therapist and Wound Therapist

Renee is an Occupational Therapist with a passion for helping people live more comfortably, confidently, and independently—especially through times of illness or recovery. She graduated from Australian Catholic University in 2020 and has worked across diverse settings including aged care, paediatrics, and oncology, always bringing a practical, person-centred approach to her care.

Renee is also a qualified Lymphoedema and Wound Therapist, with specialist training completed through Macquarie University. Her interest in cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema care was sparked during her early work in aged care and further shaped by her time providing hands-on support in Vanuatu. She has a particular interest in wound healing and long-term cancer care and enjoys supporting people from early screening through to complex management—making sure they feel informed, supported, and in control along the way.

She believes healthcare doesn’t need to be overwhelming or clinical—it can be empowering, approachable, and even a little creative when it needs to be.

When she’s not in the clinic, Renee’s usually cuddling her dog, catching up with family and friends, or enjoying a good book by the beach. She’s also a big fan of movie nights and finding the best spots for a weekend bite.

About Laura

Physiotherapist

Certified Lymphoedema Therapist

Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) from University of Sydney in 2004. Laura began her Physiotherapy career in the hospital system in Australia and also in the UK, where she enjoyed combining work with travel. Upon returning to Australia, she starting working in private practice as a musculoskeletal and sports Physiotherapist. Laura developed a keen interest in clinical pilates, gaining qualifications through DMA Clinical Pilates. After becoming a mother, Laura trained as a women’s and pelvic health Physiotherapist.

Laura started to follow Pinc and Steel International and their work in the field of cancer rehabilitation. This inspired her to complete the Pinc cancer rehabilitation certification and become a certified lymphoedema therapist through Macquarie University.

Laura has enjoyed developing her skills as a physiotherapist throughout her career and exploring new ways that she can help people through further study. 

At Restore, she combines her training and experience in a variety of areas of Physiotherapy to treat each person as a whole and assist them in their cancer journey.

When not at work, Laura can be found spending time with her husband and two children, typically driving around the Sutherland Shire to different sports and activities. She also enjoys cooking, yoga and walking her dog, Rosie.

About Edith

Physiotherapist

Certified Lymphoedema Therapist

Ms. Edith Lui graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2001 and later earned a Master’s degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy. With over 20 years of experience, particularly in managing musculoskeletal pain, she is passionate about providing patient-centered physiotherapy services through a comprehensive and holistic approach.

Ms. Lui is an accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner in both Australia and New Zealand, having received specialised training from Macquarie University. She focuses on the early screening and management of breast cancer-related lymphoedema and is also a Scar Specialist in oncology-related surgery. Additionally, she is a DMA-certified Clinical Pilates practitioner, excelling in post-operative and pelvic floor rehabilitation and injury prevention.

For the past 10 years, Ms. Lui has worked overseas, where she has been actively involved in undergraduate physiotherapy clinical education and served as an examiner for the Hong Kong Physiotherapists Registration Board Examination Committee. She has also been engaged in lecturing and conducting research projects in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. Her dedication to sharing her extensive clinical experience and knowledge underscores her commitment to advancing the field of physiotherapy and improving patient outcomes.

About Maria

Exercise Physiologist

Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

Maria completed both her Bachelor of Science (Hons) and her PhD (Pharmacology) at Monash University, her Master of Health Science (Exercise and Sport Science) at the University of Sydney, and her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Charles Sturt University. She has worked as researcher at The Heart Research Institute and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), in cardiovascular health (atherosclerosis), Type 2 Diabetes and Exercise Metabolism. As a university lecturer, she wrote and taught the course subjects of Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition and Metabolism, both at UNSW and ACU, and contributed to the initial design of the Bachelor of Exercise Physiology degree at UNSW.

As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Maria is passionate in her role of working with patients in prescribing individualized exercise therapy for a range of chronic conditions and acute injuries. She has an interest in preventing further disease with advanced knowledge of exercise for the improvement of cardiovascular disease and metabolic health. She has also embraced the opportunity to assist in particular, patients with cancer, to manage the side effects of their treatment, and to improve their health, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

When not prescribing exercise, Maria loves participating in it herself. Her favourite pastime is riding dirt trails on her mountain bike or bushwalking with her husband and kids.

About Megan

Exercise Physiologist

Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

Megan has been an Exercise Physiologist for the last two years, having previously been a small business owner since 2015. She grew up in a very active and musical household, playing everything from netball, soccer, tennis, swimming, and volleyball, to piano and clarinet. Although she never had the same natural physical ability as other kids, she enjoyed the challenge and reward of pushing herself through physical training.

It was the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 15, along with a family history of cancer, that drew her to study a Master of Exercise Physiology at Australian Catholic University.

Megan loves working as an Exercise Physiologist because it provides the opportunity to meet interesting people with complex histories and offer them autonomy over their own health. She particularly enjoys seeing clients through an evolving journey on their road to recovery, and witnessing the confidence that grows with each step.
She believes in a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to healthcare and enjoys collaborating on the journey to patient wellness.

Megan’s areas of interest include Oncology, Women’s Health, Chronic Pain, and people with invisible illnesses (such as chronic fatigue, endometriosis, hypermobility, and EDS), along with patients diagnosed with neurological conditions.

About Georgina

Exercise Physiologist

Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

Georgina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Science and a Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the Australian Catholic University. She has a keen interest in exercise oncology and neurorehabilitation, particularly intrigued by the potential for tailored exercise programs to complement cancer treatment, reduce side effects, and enhance overall well-being. She is also passionate about how exercise can contribute to neuroplasticity following trauma, stroke, or other neurological injuries.

Growing up, Georgina immersed herself in a variety of water sports, including competitive swimming, water polo, and ocean swims.

Before becoming an Exercise Physiologist, Georgina had the privilege of working across various sectors. Her experience within the NDIS space exposed her to a wide range of physical and psychological disabilities and deepened her understanding of function and independence. She enjoyed taking a holistic approach to health and well-being, encouraging her clients to engage in movement, outdoor activities, and community support systems that foster a more immersive and fulfilling lifestyle.

Georgina’s passion for Exercise Physiology was sparked by observing the often underutilised power of exercise as a therapeutic tool. Her work underscores the importance of integrating physical activity into broader healthcare and wellness frameworks to improve quality of life and long-term outcomes.

About Brody

Exercise Physiologist

Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

Brody holds a Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sport Science from Western Sydney University and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology from the Australian Catholic University. He is passionate about oncology and neurological rehabilitation, focusing on empowering individuals through exercise-based reablement. Brody is committed to helping people manage side effects, rebuild confidence, and return to meaningful daily activities. He has a particular interest in progressive conditions and those with presentations that fluctuate day to day.

Brody volunteers as a youth mentor at PCYC, working with children and young adults from the Mount Druitt community who often grow up without positive role models and may be surrounded by crime or limited opportunities. Through consistent support, guidance, and sport-based engagement, he aims to help them break free from stigma and the expectations placed on them by their environment. Brody is passionate about showing these young people that their circumstances do not define their future, and that they are capable of achieving whatever they set their minds to.

About Katherine

Dietitian

BSc(Hons)Nutrition, MSc Dietetics, APD

Originally from the UK, Katherine is a dietitian with over 17 years’ experience, having worked in many areas of speciality including, radiotherapy, oncology, gastroenterology, and renal medicine. 

Katherine graduated from Nottingham University in the UK in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition. Katherine then worked as an assistant researcher for the biomedical sciences department of Nottingham University. 

In 2005 Katherine completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics from Glasgow Caledonian University and started working for the NHS in a rotational post at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. In 2008 whilst working as a senior dietitian Katherine achieved a Masters in Dietetics and shortly afterwards moved to Australia. 

Since moving to Australia Katherine has worked in both community and hospital settings, working mainly in the areas of oncology, gastroenterology and community dietetics, with a particular interest in nutrition support, enteral feeding, post-surgical diets and digestive health.

Katherine is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and a full member of the Dietitian’s Association of Australia.

About Lesley

Counsellor

Lesley is a counsellor, group and retreat facilitator with 10yrs experience working with cancer patients, with a special interest in breast cancer.

She offers an empathetic, supportive confidential and safe environment from an integrative, person-centred approach to help you with, adjusting to a diagnosis, anxiety and stress of treatment, fear of recurrence, impact on relationships, body image and intimacy, living with loss and grief and life after cancer.

Lesley understands that we cannot always control what happens to us, but we can learn to control how we respond by developing self-awareness and empowerment to assist you through life’s challenges and transitions.

About Michelle

Massage Therapist

Originally from the UK, Michelle has been a remedial massage therapist for the last 4 years.  Having trained in a variety of massage modalities, Michelle specialises in providing targeted treatments that address musculoskeletal issues, injury recovery, and chronic pain.

Over the years, Michelle has developed a particular passion for manual lymphatic drainage, a gentle technique designed to encourage the movement of lymph fluid throughout the body. This method helps reduce swelling, aid in the removal of waste products from the tissues, and support immune function, making it ideal for individuals with conditions such as lymphoedema or post-surgery recovery.  She is currently working towards becoming an accredited Lymphoedema Therapist.

Michelle takes a holistic approach to massage therapy, understanding that each client is unique and that no two treatments are the same. Whether working with athletes, post-operative clients, or individuals undergoing cancer treatment, she is dedicated in helping clients improve their physical well-being, reduce pain, and promote overall health and recovery.
